My plane has landed - New Job Yeah

On my last day in my former place of employment I sent an email out to my teammates saying that I felt like I was getting on a plane and not sure where I was going( but I knew it would all be OK)... well after five months of reflection, ups and downs.. I have found and created the next step on my professional journey. I have accepted an offer with the same firm as Learning Consultant for the Internal Audit Dept. In a nut shell I get to work with some great/smart people on all things related to development of young adults right out of college into Internal Audit, Leadership Development(making people good leaders of self and others), and lots of other fun stuff. The five months allowed me the time to get really clear that while Michael Jordan loves basketball.. I love Human Development and the study of Human Behavior... I am also taking a class at UNCC on Counseling and Human Development. My 10 year plan is to get my license as a Professional Counselor/ Life Coach.


While this blog is about POV Family Life... everything intersects in my life.... everything that I do is kind of a manifestation of my desire to serve God as his child, Chris' wife, momma.... FASHIONISTA( had to throw that in!)........


Thank you dear God for this cool opportunity. Super excited.. life as HYBRID Momma continues....... and now back to the regular scheduled program this week.. entitled... " Mason learns about the potty"........

My Day with Lu Lu of LC Designs

I know what I do well in life... and one of those is somehow through God's good grace attract a lot of good people my way. Lovely Lucia is one of those people. And here is the added bonus... many of these people I attract into my life are rather TALENTED. If you need a seamstress, Pampered Chef Rep, photographer, organic food health coach, interior decorator, whimsical children and family crafts creator, monogramed maestro.. whatever I probably know a momprenauer who can assist you.

So one goal for the year.... make our Dining Room look pretty. The more winter makes its presence known in Charlotte.. the more I crave all things pretty/ floral/toile/girly....frilly, cheery.. HAPPY. I have had two great consultations with Miss Lucia on a Custom Window Treatment(she is a local seamstress and Window Treatment ROCKSTAR).. and I am excited. We have visited Mary Jos, Bed Bath and Beyond . Oh What Fun! I am such a novice but I actually love FABRIC.. looking at it .. touching it..... I love window treatment stuff like finials... and brackets..... soooooooo fun! I am addicted(and lack $$$$ for this addiction).. but anyway.... I am super excited nonetheless. My Guy's Birthday Bash

So I thought and thought... do I do something big for Chris' 38th Birthday? Party? big night out? Was not sure. But then I thought.. What would Chris want????? and on some things he and I are so similar.. We both love to hang out at home.. just us four.. So the boys and I gave him a Birthday Celebration POV Style....




HAPPY BIRTHDAY Daddy... we love you! Forever and ever and ever and then some!

PS: And we are still going out to dinner.. just he and I some where nice!!!!!! yippeeeeeeeee!

2010: My intentions

So goals and intentions are kind of personal. Mine have been rambling around in my head now for weeks. I think about this stuff a lot. I am anal about not wanting to miss out on life.. and I believe that by thinking about (and writing down)what I want for this year I can work toward creating it. I also want to keep it simple. The truth is.. I like me (for the most part) just as I am!

With that .. the Bucket List is:

1. Kiss or be kissed by my sweet husband at least once a day.

2. Focus my energy on the following relationships in this order:
- GOD, Self, Marriage/Chris, my boys....everyone else (as I have bandwith).

3. Contribute to the financial health of my family( get a job that brings in $).

4. Run a 5k that is associated with some charitable organization.

5. Be kind to myself. Love myself.. have compassion for myself. Take care of myself.

6. Do volunteer work through Steele Creek Outreach(see: http://steelecreekoutreach.blogspot.com/
and support Amber's Mitochondrial Work, as well as support agencies focused on Women and Children impacted by Domestic Abuse.

7. Be present as best I can. Take deep breaths....listen more than I talk.


8. Be honest and verbalize that I love God and Jesus.. and I am a liberal Catholic defining that for myself every day.....

9. Continue to work on my long term goal to build my business as a Life Coach/Licensed Counselor.

10. Be compassionate with myself even if its 12/31/2010 and none of this has been accomplished because I know, I will have lived.. and loved and that is really what is important!

It has been two weeks since Christmas and I am still loading pics.. ha ha he he..... this is the last entry documenting Holiday 2009. It was a great holiday. I now find myself very introspective... looking back a lot on 2009 and thinking about 2010. 2009 was really challenging and yet through it all.. we kept going... breathing, grabbing the joyful moments and savoring them. My goal has been to feel it all.. even the crappy stuff. My tendency is to want to quickly sweep the yucky feelings under the rug and not experience raw... emotions like saddness and anger... but I have challenged myself to feel it all.. the good and the bad.. and I feel stronger! You have to feel the bad to really appreciate the good. I have really good vibes about 2010.... my transformation as a human....growing, evolving.. being honest.. continues...I am mix of feelings and roles in life..I am . deep... materialistic.... kind... compassionate... jealous.. competitive.. emotional...and I am me! Momma... spiritual being... professional... HUMAN.... jumping into 2010 with God and my own three kings beside me!

I am a nester....at my core.... you can ask any girlfriend I hung out with over the years and they will tell you... I love to be at home. Maybe that is why I love Christmas so much....
