Ten Years

On a very hot day May 27th, 2000 on the island of Hilton Head South Carolina..... we became husband and wife.... it was a good day and it has been a good life.. a very good life. We argue, sure, we disagree.. sure... but we will walk the earth hand in hand... for as long as we can....... and the bonus is our two little love boys.. our legacy.. CJ and Mason. My wish is that they know love of God, and self and of someone else like we have.... that is La Dolce Vida....and I will always love mi amor, Chris... TEN YEARS WOW!!!!!!

PS: edited to add, I double checked and the correct spelling is La Dolce Vita.. " the sweet life", while I do not speak either Spanish or Italian I can write and somewhat understand spanish if spoken VERY slowely... I used the word Vida( life in spanish, but learned the phrase is La Dolce Vita).. beautiful nonetheless

La Vie en Rose

I love Spring and Summer. I love to be outside... I am happiest outside. While I am not a "rough it camper girl".. I love to be outside... Sit me near the sun and I am happy. Let me garden and I am happy.. let me see flowers and I am happy... I love walking the neighborhood and seeing all my neighbors beautiful flowers..and I love cutting my own and bringing them inside to enjoy.....

Today

Today.. is the greatest day I ever had..

Maybe.. and maybe not. Life is real. Today, I am tired and so glad that it's Friday. Today I love the job, and it is super busy. Today I spend the day on the phone talking, listening until my mouth hearts, trying to make a difference in my own way.

Today, I got lost in my car... rushing to get from a school trip to a meeting and hour away.. uptown.. frantic.. lost.. finally found 85.

Today, the smiles of my sweet boys and the hugs made it all better.

Today a husband who sees how tired I am .. and has dinner ready.. is a good thing.

Today, I shut the door and want to cry. Today, I went to an offsite meeting with just girls. We talked work, botox, sesame chicken, and pretty lavender flowers. My kind of meeting.

Today, I am a Soccer Mom.

Today I have to work very hard to quiet the negative thoughts in my head saying "your not good enough"....

Today I know why people call it " the terrible twos". And yet still adore my ball of energy....and two year old

Today, I miss my friend who moved from Berewick.

Today, I am glad Coleen and I had a good catch up and gosh how I miss her.

Today I freakin' LOVE MAC MASCARA!!!!!!

Today I am obsessed with anything Lavender!

Today I am thinking about all the girls out there who desperately want to be mothers....

Today, I joined the PTA. Today I a am daydreaming of Anthropologie, Provence, France( never been and want to go)...

Today I sat outside with a glass of Moscato with Chris, while the boys ran around. I felt my stomach relax for the first time in several days......

Easter Eve

It's Easter Eve... 10:20 pm Eastern Time. I am absolutely giddy. Good day doing yard work, and then dinner with some dear friends. Life is sweet and I am just happy! I am giddy though because I just watched my 6 foot'3 husband outside in the dark of night hiding our easter eggs for tomorrow. Off to church super early and then a fun day planned. Making ham and Grandma Ruby's Baked Macaroni for dinner( yum-o).

Anyway, on this Easter Eve wanted to take a moment to share and recall my sisters visit last weekend. Dawne and her "F" Clan visited last weekend. It was a great visit. My sister is ME in so many ways.. yet so different. She loves sports( College Football and regular football - so NOT Me, ).. but when she talks, she reminds me of myself in so many ways, we share the same history and.....I adore this girl so. And like everything in life it is an adoration that has grown over time. This is the same girl I have bit, pulled the hair of, punched, cursed at.... hugged...., cried with, borrowed money from... walked down the church aisle, held nonparental parties with, borrowed clothes from ( with her awareness and not).... cried with, cried over boys with, laughed with, said" I AM IN LOVE TO....., talked weddings, and babies, and love and anger... and balancing work with family and window treatments, and MTV, and Tiger Woods .. " "NO SHE DID NOT"...?and yeah just everything with.

My sister my BFF for sure...... I love you beautiful Dawne. beyond words... and I am writing this because I want CJ and Mason to know that your family is your family... and can be your best friends too.....

Dad, if you read this.. your wish came true.. you alway said.. "all you have is eachother.. LOVE EACHOTHER.." and we do !

And PS: I LOVE YOU DEAR LORD, Jesus, Father and Holy Ghost. All of this is made possible because of you! I am loved by you.. how lucky I am in so many ways!!!!!!!!!!

Finishing up the book, The Shack.. very, very good. The writer is very much aligned with how I see.. GOD, and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. To me they are love... not rules... "... just love.... and acceptance.. and Heaven is better than yes even ANTHROPOLOGIE!
