Lovely, Lovely Berewick/Steele Creek

Warning! I am about to rave again about my neighborhood. I love it so. When you have a baby you get meals sent over. When your struggling in some way the people join forces and have your back. I love this place very, very much. And I love the people more! They are our family now too!


My week was good and crazy. Work is great and WILD. While I work to stay present in life's moments... I was really excited for a G FAMILY PARTY. Their parties just make me happy. There are always pretty things to look at, people to give you a big hug and they and my little Berewick Town just fill my heart with so much joy! Savannah's Second BDAY was so special and the neighborhood is gearing up for a big walk in her honor. More to come on that too soon.

A NIGHT OUT no kids with BABYSITTERS PROVIDED!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is right my dear blog friends... Uncle Jer, wonderful Uncle Jer for my bday provided for a weekend in a Durham Hotel, shopping at Streets of Southpoint, and dinner at Maggiano's.

The day was great. Chris and I walked the mall hand and hand, smiled, ate uninterrupted meals, took slow leisurely strolls from store to store. I got to stop and just stare at window displays, try lotions at L'Occitane, admire head bands and hair accessories at Nordstroms and I spent hours at Anthropologie. In fact one sales lady looked at me and said "Wow, your back again?".

The weekend was amazing and rejuvenating. I love mommyhood but I think everyone needs to fill their cup up with a little non parenting time. For me, sweet pea by my side, Anthro, and yummy food is a spectacular gift.

Beach Week 2010

Hi, my dear blog friends. There is just so much to update you on. I do not know where to start. We got back from nine GLORIOUS days at Hilton Head Island. HHI is one of my happy places in life. Chris and I were married there so I have so many fond memories. I just love this place. It has sweet southern charm. Think bicycle riding to the bakery, Spanish Moss hanging from trees, mornings at the beach, afternoons at the pool. Tons of family fun. Fireworks. Gelato. The list goes on and on. God has been good to we Povs. We have good times, we have hard times. This was a good time, a very good time. This is the first of a few Beach Week Posts. My favorite event this year was the Pov All Family Picture. While the pictures are still being developed wanted to show you some "pre"shots at Grandma and Grandpa's Place.

They make me laugh and smile. As you can see we wore, white or khaki. You might laugh but I am geeky and love this kind of thing!

As Good as it Gets

I truly believe in a lot of ways right now is probably as good as life can get. Everyone is healthy, happy most minutes or content most minutes and able to find joy. I am really filled with joy. There is so much to be filled with joy about. I think at 41 wonderful this is as good as it is going to get!

Tonight we celebrated my 41st birthday some more: my boys, Anthro Gift Card from my sweet pea, Luigi's Pizza and Principle Skinner at the Pond. It was a beautiful night. I love summer so! This is as good as it can get. Thank you God!

Ten Years

On a very hot day May 27th, 2000 on the island of Hilton Head South Carolina..... we became husband and wife.... it was a good day and it has been a good life.. a very good life. We argue, sure, we disagree.. sure... but we will walk the earth hand in hand... for as long as we can....... and the bonus is our two little love boys.. our legacy.. CJ and Mason. My wish is that they know love of God, and self and of someone else like we have.... that is La Dolce Vida....and I will always love mi amor, Chris... TEN YEARS WOW!!!!!!

PS: edited to add, I double checked and the correct spelling is La Dolce Vita.. " the sweet life", while I do not speak either Spanish or Italian I can write and somewhat understand spanish if spoken VERY slowely... I used the word Vida( life in spanish, but learned the phrase is La Dolce Vita).. beautiful nonetheless

La Vie en Rose

I love Spring and Summer. I love to be outside... I am happiest outside. While I am not a "rough it camper girl".. I love to be outside... Sit me near the sun and I am happy. Let me garden and I am happy.. let me see flowers and I am happy... I love walking the neighborhood and seeing all my neighbors beautiful flowers..and I love cutting my own and bringing them inside to enjoy.....

Today

Today.. is the greatest day I ever had..

Maybe.. and maybe not. Life is real. Today, I am tired and so glad that it's Friday. Today I love the job, and it is super busy. Today I spend the day on the phone talking, listening until my mouth hearts, trying to make a difference in my own way.

Today, I got lost in my car... rushing to get from a school trip to a meeting and hour away.. uptown.. frantic.. lost.. finally found 85.

Today, the smiles of my sweet boys and the hugs made it all better.

Today a husband who sees how tired I am .. and has dinner ready.. is a good thing.

Today, I shut the door and want to cry. Today, I went to an offsite meeting with just girls. We talked work, botox, sesame chicken, and pretty lavender flowers. My kind of meeting.

Today, I am a Soccer Mom.

Today I have to work very hard to quiet the negative thoughts in my head saying "your not good enough"....

Today I know why people call it " the terrible twos". And yet still adore my ball of energy....and two year old

Today, I miss my friend who moved from Berewick.

Today, I am glad Coleen and I had a good catch up and gosh how I miss her.

Today I freakin' LOVE MAC MASCARA!!!!!!

Today I am obsessed with anything Lavender!
